FIELD: metallurgy; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and medical materials science, namely to production of sheet workpiece from austenitic corrosion-resistant steel of UNS S31673 (ASTM F 138) type and can be used as structural material, as well as in production of surgical implants. First method includes preliminary and final processing. Preliminary processing includes heating of the workpiece to temperature of 1000 °C at rate of 1 mm of section per minute at the same temperature with subsequent multiple rolling with 10% reduction per pass to total reduction of 60%, then cooling in water is performed. After each pass the workpiece is heated to the specified temperature. Final processing includes heating of the workpiece to temperature of 850 °C at rate of 1 mm of section per minute at the same temperature with subsequent multiple rolling with 10% reduction per pass to total reduction of 60%, after which cooling in water is performed. After each pass the workpiece is heated to the specified temperature. Second method involves preliminary and final processing. Final processing includes two stages. At the first stage, the workpiece is heated to temperature of 850 °C at 1 mm of section per minute at the same temperature with subsequent multiple rolling with 10% reduction per pass to total reduction of 60%, after which it is cooled in water. After each pass the workpiece is heated to the specified temperature. At the second stage, the workpiece is heated to temperature of 300-400 °C at rate of 1 mm of section per minute at the same temperature with subsequent multiple rolling with 10% reduction per pass to total reduction of 60%, then cooling in water is performed. After each pass the workpiece is heated to the specified temperature.
EFFECT: required combination of strength and ductility in UNS S31673 (ASTM F 138) steel.
