FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to designs of centrifugal extractors for mass exchange processes in a mixture of liquids and can be used in radiochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical and hydrometallurgical industries. Centrifugal extractor with adjustable hydraulic lock comprises housing accommodating mixing chamber with inlet branch pipes, collection chambers of separated heavy and light phases with outlet branch pipes and separation chamber, which is arranged there between and composed of rotor wall rigidly secured on drive shaft coupled with drive and hub disc with overflow holes rigidly secured on said shaft. At the inlet of the separation chamber there is a mechanism for feeding the mixture from the mixing chamber. At the outlet of the rotor with a gap relative to the disc, a cover is rigidly fixed, which forms a hydraulic lock in the gap with the disc with an overflow hole coaxial to the drive shaft, which is connected to the heavy phase collection chamber. In the housing on the side of the drive through a gap from the cover coaxially to the shaft along the thread there is an articulated ring shaped gap-forming element connected to a mechanism for adjusting and fixing its position in the form of a drive element installed in the opening of the housing. Separation chamber is connected through tubes in rotor wall to light phase collection chamber. Thread of joint of annular shaped gap-forming element with housing is made between housing and inner wall of this element and has direction of rotation opposite to direction of rotation of drive shaft. Control mechanism drive element is connected to the gap-forming element through the gearing in the form of engaged cylindrical gears, one of which is driven, is made on outer wall of gap-forming element, and the other one – the driving one – is made on the drive element equipped with a device for its rotation, fixation and sealing in the hole of the housing. Cover and the gap-forming element in the area of the cover hole are made in the form of several annular projections and depressions, mutually overlapping each other in height and forming a zigzag shape of the gap between them.
EFFECT: invention increases the range and accuracy of adjusting the radial position of the emulsion layer in the separation chamber of the rotating rotor.
