SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used to restore the beam pattern of an active phased antenna array in case of failure of active modules. Method of adapting the beam pattern of an active phased antenna array includes evaluating the formation of the beam pattern of the active phased antenna array, synthesis of amplitude-phase distribution using an artificial radial basic neural network with failures of active modules of an active phased antenna array, determining the technical state of the active phased antenna array and transmitting the results to the functional monitoring system of the radio equipment. When implementing the method of adapting the beam pattern to changes in the technical state of the active phased antenna array, deviations of the beam pattern parameters are determined when active modules of the active phased antenna array fail. Based on the results of comparing the reference beam pattern with the deformed using the trained artificial radial basic neural network, the amplitude-phase distribution is determined for each serviceable active module of the active phased antenna array for recovery of beam parameters of active phased antenna array within tactical criteria of failure of radio equipment.

EFFECT: high accuracy of reconstructing the beam pattern of an active phased antenna array and improved characteristics in general in case of failure of active modules of the active phased antenna array.
