FIELD: performing operations.

SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to method of loose materials drying and improvement of ecological efficiency of shaft drying furnaces and to device for method implementation. Method is most applicable for vertical shaft furnaces for drying of ore and nonmetallic materials, in particular, to furnaces for drying of chrysotile asbestos with upper loading of initial bulk material and lower unloading of finished product. Method for drying bulk materials and increasing the environmental efficiency of shaft drying furnaces involves feeding bulk material through a loading device, drying due to convective heat exchange with heat carrier supplied in forward flow and counterflow with respect to direction of movement of loose material under action of gravitational forces, delivery of dried bulk material from the shaft drying furnace through the unloading device, inertial and centrifugal separation of fine particles of the material, including dust, to the inlet header of the gas discharge channels, deposition by soaring due to reduction of heat carrier speed in vertical diffuser channel of inlet manifold of gas discharge channels during their drying with subsequent supply of heat carrier together with dust residues in form of aerosol through gas discharge channels into atmosphere, wherein part of fine particles of material and dust in form of aerosol is recirculated between diffuser channel of inlet manifold and forward flow, additionally repeatedly subjecting them to inertial, centrifugal separation and drying. To implement the method, there is a vertical shaft drying furnace, in the wall of the diffuser vertical channel of which on the side of direct flow, adjacent to the upper direct-flow part of the dryer, which is its continuation, there are confuser channels connecting the diffuser vertical channel of the inlet manifold of the gas discharge channels with the upper direct-flow part of the dryer.

EFFECT: higher environmental efficiency.
