ENGINE VIBRATION DIAGNOSTICS METHOD Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC G01M7/02

Abstract RU 2837836 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely to methods and means of vibration diagnostics of technical state of various mechanisms, machines and engines of vehicles, and can be used to ensure the quality of the engine during its manufacture or overhaul at the final stage during its bench running-in. Proposed engine vibration diagnostics method relates to the group of inventions which perform amplitude-frequency analysis of vibration data. On the engine body parts vibration acceleration sensors are installed, connected to the vibration signal analyser, with output parameters in the form of a set of root-mean-square values of accelerations in bands of 1/3-octave spectrum. They are compared with the reference parameters obtained from the archive, presenting in the form of ratios of the obtained data to the archived ones, according to the corresponding spectral bands obtained when testing the engine at preset at least 5 engine operating modes, with the accepted crankshaft rpm values and the developed torque, and initial archives of reference parameters are created during testing, starting from the first engine of the series. After completion of tests in all modes, estimated values are calculated as average values of sums, for all sensors used, they are transmitted to the indexing unit of the BI and a decision is made on recognizing the engine being diagnosed as meeting the specified technical conditions for ensuring its quality indicators or sending the engine for revision.

EFFECT: simplifying the process of forming a database of target values and on-line assessment of compliance of the engine being diagnosed with specified specifications.
