SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recognition of damaged QR-Code. Disclosed method of decoding QR-Code of symbols with cut edges consists in the fact that by the first step on the input image IB a quadrangle of boundaries is detected, inside which a set A of candidates for guidance patterns is sought, then for each point vi search patterns located in its vicinity are detected, four obtained sets are combined into a single set of candidates F, further, all hypothesis elements from the set H are sequentially considered, which includes a subsample, which consists of one, two or three search patterns, and a subsample, which cannot include two or more templates from one set for the next hypothesis, by the version number according to the QR-Code symbology specification, the binary matrix size is uniquely determined, then calculating the coordinates of the centres of the modules on the input image and determining the colour of the modules, establishing the relationship between the image and the pre-image, filling the bit matrix of the code Mj, further, according to the specification of QR-Code symbols, a sequence of bytes supplied to the input of the decoder is extracted.

EFFECT: providing a method for decoding a QR-Code of symbols with cut edges, which enables to read the content of a QR-Code in case of its edge cut.
