SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to endocrinology, and can be used for diagnosing metabolically healthy (MHO) and metabolically unhealthy (MUHO) obesity in young and middle-aged men. Measurement of waist circumference (WC), height (H), determination of blood triglycerides (TG), determination of waist-to-height ratio (WHR). Based on the obtained values, the coefficient K is determined by a given formula. If K is more than 0.92, metabolically unhealthy obesity is diagnosed, and if K is less than or equal to 0.92, metabolically healthy obesity is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables timely detection of men with MUHO at the stage of outpatient link with possibility of further, including drug-induced, treatment by assessing the aggregate of the most significant parameters.
