SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of controlling aerosol production in aerosol-generating device (200) comprising an induction heating device (320) and power supply (310) for supplying power to the induction heating device (320). Method includes control of power supplied to device (320) for induction heating, to provide a step-by-step increase in temperature of current collector (160), associated with aerosol-generating device (200), from a first operating temperature to a second operating temperature, wherein current collector (160) is configured to heat aerosol-forming substrate (110), and wherein power is controlled based on measured resistance, conductivity or current associated with current collector, wherein the measured resistance, conductivity or current associated with the current collector is determined based on the direct current consumed from the power supply.

EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of temperature control and regulation of induction heating device.
