FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection and can be used to remove compounds of heavy metals from ground water, surface water systems and waste water of enterprises. Sorption material for purification of aqueous media from heavy metals includes porous and iron-containing carriers and iron oxyhydroxide. Carriers used are foamed zinc, having a porous structure, and iron-containing mineral staurolite, having sorption properties. Sorption material for purification of aqueous media from heavy metals has the following ratio of components, wt.%: iron oxyhydroxide 65, foamed zinc 25, staurolite 10.
EFFECT: invention enables to efficiently extract heavy metal compounds with high initial concentrations from water at pH values of 4 to 9.
