SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, namely to sorbents for extracting fluorine from ground water, surface water systems and waste water of various enterprises. Sorbent for purification of aqueous media from fluorine consists of carriers of minerals and an active component. Mineral carriers used are grossite and aragonite, and the active component used is aluminium oxyhydroxide nanofibres, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: aluminium oxyhydroxide nanofibres – 8; grossite – 46; aragonite – 46.

EFFECT: enabling increase in sorption capacity of the sorbent, while reducing its hydrodynamic resistance, increasing adsorption surface and mechanical strength.
