FIELD: construction materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction materials, in particular to fire-retardant compositions for wood, and can be used to apply coatings on wooden structures in order to increase their fire resistance and protection against rot. Disclosed fire-retardant and rot-proof composition for wood contains boric acid, monoethanolamine, copper sulphate, iodine and water with the following content of components, wt.%: boric acid – 40; monoethanolamine – 15; copper sulphate – 5; iodine – 1; water – balance.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables to expand the range of compositions used to obtain fire-retardant and anti-rot coatings; composition is a composition of mixed chemical nature, provides an effective fire-retardant coating and high resistance of wood to decay.
