FIELD: educating.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to life-size models in botany. Herbarium production method envisages treatment of freshly harvested parts of a plant of the same species with a freshly prepared solution of the biofungicide “Fitosporin-M-Tsvety” and natural drying in a room. Then an epoxy resin solution is prepared at temperature of 20-22 °C for not more than 10 minutes, the treated dried parts of the plant are poured into silicone moulds so that first resin is poured into the moulds in layer of 1-2 mm, then the dried parts of the plant are laid on this layer of resin and poured from above with resin in layer of 5-10 mm, without adding 1-2 mm from the upper edge of the silicone mould, the filled mould is treated with a spray corrector for resin and dried in a room. Biofungicide solution is prepared at rate of 10 drops per 250 ml of water. For the herbarium production, parts of plants of the same type are selected and dried: a leaf, a flower, a fruit, seeds, from May to September in different phenological phases. Epoxy resin used is “ArtEpoxy” resin for creative and decorative works; the resin solution is prepared by mixing the resin with a hardener at ratio of 100:30.

EFFECT: disclosed method of making herbarium provides higher quality of preservation of herbarium and multiple use, preservation of colour of plants, and also eliminates the need for repeated collection of plants, preserving species of plants included in the Red Data book.
