FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technological process of forming mirror optical elements from optical materials. Proposed method comprises calculation of part surface shape deviation, calculation of shaped diaphragm section and displacement of the part behind said diaphragm. In order to form mirrors with a surface shape in form of an off-axis segment of an ellipsoid of rotation, which transmit radiation from one ellipsoid focus to another, deviation of the shape of the surface of the component from the vertex sphere is calculated, given by a formula in form of a second-degree polynomial, by solving a system of equations which give the geometry of the optical arrangement. Ion etching of part is performed at its swinging relative to axis of vertex sphere at constant angular speed behind shaped diaphragm, which sets aspherization profile, and formation of aspherical surface.
EFFECT: removing material from the surface of optical components with a wide quasi-parallel ion beam to obtain a surface in form of an off-axis segment of an ellipsoid of rotation.
