FIELD: optical technology.

SUBSTANCE: technological process for formation of optical elements from optical materials of a given surface shape. According to the invention, the rotation axis of the optical part is searched both inside the aperture of the part and outside, the global minimum of the surface is found by sorting through positions of the rotation axis available in the setup geometry. An etch profile is calculated for each axis, and then a rotation axis is selected that provides the minimum amount of surface shape error after etching.

EFFECT: invention provides the maximum reduction of the shape error of the surface of the optical part, thereby reducing the processing time of the optical part.
