SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to therapy, obstetrics, ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used to determine indications for surgical intervention in case of acute appendicitis in II-III trimesters of pregnancy. Patient’s complaints and medical history are collected, and the patient is examined; the laboratory parameters are assessed, and abdominal ultrasonography is conducted to detect free fluid, the vermiform appendix is visualized, its diameter and wall thickness are determined. Magnetic resonance imaging is used to determine the presence of periappendicular subcutaneous fat infiltration, a vermiform appendix diameter and a wall thickness. Each derived value is scored; total score is used to state a necessity of surgical intervention.

EFFECT: method enables fast and effective determination of indications for surgical intervention in case of suspected acute appendicitis due to evaluation of a set of most significant indicators.
