FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: navigation simulator comprises trainees' workstations (TWS) of the navigation bridge, TWS of ship traffic control system and remote control centre (STCS/RCC), an instructor workstation (IWS) and a server, all said workstations being integrated by a local area network (LAN). Every navigation bridge TWS comprises simulator of navigator workstation and bridge operator virtual reality helmet. STCS/RCC TWS comprises a workstation simulator of the STCS/RCC operator and a virtual reality helmet of the STCS/RCC operator. IWS comprises the following, interconnected by a bus: data control unit, display unit, simulator configurator, scenarios editor, printing unit and is a set of standard hardware in form of a computer, monitors, keyboard, graphic manipulator, printer and loaded software. Server contains interconnected by means of data bus databases unit, vessel movement simulation unit, unit for simulating operation of ship systems and devices, STCS/RCC systems and devices operation simulating unit, at least one unit for interaction with running bridge TWS, number of which corresponds to number of navigation bridge TWS, unit for interaction with STCS/RCC TWS, navigation environment simulation unit, external disturbances simulation unit.

EFFECT: expansion of the simulator's functional capabilities, associated with the possibility of individual and group training of navigators.
