FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for delivering an intraocular lens (IOL) to the eye using a hydraulic fluid flow or pressure. IOL can be stored, advanced and delivered to the eye using a hydraulic fluid stored in a sterile container through a hollow plunger for advancement. Plunger can rigidly push the IOL into a sealed position in the first phase, and then the IOL can be advanced into the eye by means of hydraulic pressure or fluid flow in the second phase.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions will make it possible to compress a relatively large lens for passing through an acceptably small incision, control deformation caused by fluid movement during compression and exit from the tip, and perform delivery in a predictable and controlled manner.
