FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to hydrogenation of petroleum products and particularly to a hydrogenation catalyst and a method for production and use thereof, as well as a method for hydrogenation of petroleum products. Hydrogenation catalyst is a sulphonated hydrogenation catalyst and comprises a support, a molecular sieve and an active component, wherein the active component comprises at least one of the group VIII metal elements and at least one of the group VIB metal elements, hydrogenation catalyst is characterized by a percentage of the molecular sieve directly applied to the surface of the group VIB metal sulphide, relative the total amount of the molecular sieve, in range of 60-100%, based on the silicon element, as determined using the TEM-EDX method; support is an inorganic refractory oxide; molecular sieve is at least one molecular sieve selected from the group consisting of a Y-type molecular sieve, a ZSM-5 molecular sieve, a molecular sieve β-type and molecular sieve MCM-41; molecular sieve is contained in amount of 1-20 wt.% based on total weight of catalyst. Also disclosed is a method of preparing said catalyst.
EFFECT: providing a hydrogenation catalyst having relatively high activity and selectivity with the ability to control the reaction of a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon to realize ring opening without breaking the chain to form a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon with a long-branched chain, which can be used both as raw material for cracking ethylene and as a high-quality diesel product.
