METHOD FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL DECONTAMINATION OF NON-PAINTED METAL SURFACES FROM CONTAMINATION WITH RADIONUCLIDES Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC G21F9/28

Abstract RU 2839064 C1

FIELD: nuclear technologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear technologies and can be used for decontamination of metal structures contaminated with radionuclides, pipelines and other equipment during elimination of consequences of accidents at nuclear hazardous facilities, during their decommissioning or repair. When decontaminating non-painted metal surfaces with fixed radioactive contamination, anodic dissolution of the surface of the treated object is carried out through a porous membrane in the interelectrode gap. In order to reduce liquid radioactive wastes and localize radioactive contaminants on the membrane, it is dried by passing current during operation. Due to application of electrodes-tools with variable shapes of working parts corresponding to relief, shapes and sizes of processed surfaces, the method is applicable on surfaces of any configuration and relief in constrained overall conditions, such as pipes of small diameter or slots.

EFFECT: possibility of using the method on sections with any geometry, including inner cavities, pipes and curved surfaces, as well as absence of surface damage due to absence of contact of electrodes.
