FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device relates to machine building and can be used as a propulsor for transportation of gaseous and liquid media, as well as for creation of reactive force for movement of vehicles, for example, aircrafts or floating vehicles. Wave propulsor includes a body in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped with open ends, a flexible wavy tape located inside the body, power supply and control system, damping elements in the form of elastic rods located in slots of the housing and connected to the ends of the flexible tape. Flexible tape is made of spring magnetic steel or elastomer with ferromagnetic inclusions. Conducting windings of electromagnets with cores are arranged on the body evenly through equal gaps in rectangular recesses of opposite sides of the body, which touch the moving ridges of the flexible tape. Cores of electromagnets are assembled from ferromagnetic material with high magnetic permeability and have the shape of rectangular cores for successive closure of magnetic lines. Surfaces of the electromagnets are parallel to the sides of the body touching by the crests of the flexible belt.
EFFECT: control system periodically connects and disconnects electromagnets, creating areas of magnetisation of tape crests, which leads to their successive movement along the body in the form of a travelling wave.
