FIELD: electronic equipment; acceleration equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic and acceleration equipment, namely to vacuum-tight round-to-rectangular waveguides in microwave energy outputs and can be used in making powerful and super-powerful klystrons. Round-to-rectangular waveguide for input and/or output of microwave energy for transmitting microwave power comprises a section of a circular waveguide, in the transverse plane of which, equidistant from its ends, a dielectric disc is located, vacuum-tightly soldered to the wall of the section of a circular waveguide, as well as the first and second sections of rectangular waveguides with inductive diaphragms, located coaxially with the section of the round waveguide and connected to it from opposite ends by matching elements in the form of truncated cones at the inlet and outlet of the round-to-rectangular waveguide. At least in one of the sections of the rectangular waveguides there is a waveguide resonator, wherein the thickness of the resonator covers Td is selected from condition 0.014⋅λ0 ≤Td ≤ 0.042⋅λ0, where λ0 is wavelength in vacuum at central frequency, and transverse size of rectangular hole in resonator covers is calculated by methods of numerical simulation.
EFFECT: wider operating frequency band and high level of transmitted power.
