FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of ammonia-water absorption cooling, in which liquid ammonia is evaporated to obtain ammonia vapours and a cooling effect. Ammonia vapours are absorbed in the depleted aqueous ammonia solution to obtain an enriched solution. Gaseous ammonia is desorbed at high pressure from the enriched solution to obtain gaseous ammonia and regenerate the lean solution. Gaseous ammonia is condensed and expanded with pressure drop for further use in the evaporator. Absorption step includes a process of washing ammonia vapours with a lean solution, which is carried out in a washing column. Washing column can operate as a preliminary absorption column together with water-cooled absorbers. Invention also solves the problem of eliminating the bottleneck formed by common water-cooled absorbers during modernization in order to increase efficiency.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing the need for cooling water for the absorption section.
