FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to microbiology and medicine, concerns a method of treating metabolic syndrome by correcting the intestinal microbiota composition. Faecal suspension is prepared from the faeces sample, which is sown on a selective medium for enterococci containing sodium azide and a crystal violet dye, cultivated for 24-48 hours at temperature of 37 °C. Three typical colonies of lilac-pink colour with a light-pink rim are then selected, seeded on a dense MRS medium and cultivated for 24 hours at 37 °C. Prepared cultures are used to prepare a smear which is Gram-stained after fixation and microscoped. In case of detection of violet cocci arranged in the form of short chains, they are identified to type by means of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and PCR. Bacterial strains Enterococcus faecium and/or Enterococcus hirae, which do not have pathogenicity genes according to PCR results, are then selected, they are sown into a sterile nutrient medium based on soya hydrolyzate and used for manufacture of a personified functional autoprobiotic food product in the form of a starter. Product in form of starter is orally administered daily 2 times a day in dose of 108 colony-forming units for 20 days. Invention ensures: 1) increase in the proportion of patients who have possible recovery of autoprobiotic strains and obtaining PFFP (up to 93%); 2) optimization of the therapeutic process – 1 instead of two courses. One course of therapy leads to changes in the intestinal microbiota (reduced representation of E. faecalis, Streptococcus spp., Bacteroides fragilis), reduction of BWI, body weight, glycated haemoglobin and fasting glucose of venous blood.

EFFECT: presented method of metabolic syndrome therapy is more cost-effective and safe.
