FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to surgery and endocrinology, and may be used in the integrated treatment of trophic ulcers of various localisations accompanying diabetic foot syndrome. Lightweight personalized brace for the integrated treatment of diabetic foot syndrome consists of two parts: a shin and a foot. Each of parts includes two halves. Two halves of foot are connected by means of horizontal fastener arranged along medial edges of both halves. Right part enters the left part and is latched. Upper part of foot area and back part above heel area are fixed with additional fastener. Two halves of the shank are overlapped relative to each other. Foot width from a lateral side of a first toe to a lateral side of the fifth toe is added 5 cm to avoid pressure of brace walls on a lower extremity and to avoid pressure ulcers. Foot length from a tuber of calcaneum to an edge of a distal part of a hallux phalanx is added 5 cm to avoid pressure of brace walls on a lower extremity and decubitus ulcers exclusion. Circumference is measured from a lower edge of the lateral malleolus of fibula to the medial malleolus of tibia and added 5 cm to avoid pressure of the brace walls on the lower extremity and to avoid pressure ulcers. Circumference is measured from upper edge of lateral malleolus of tibia to medial malleolus of tibia and added 0.5 cm to gauze bandage with further 5-fold measurement of shin volume at pitch of 5 cm to distal edge of attachment point of patellar ligament to tibia and added 0.5 cm on a gauze bandage. Patient is placed in the Fowler position with the lower extremity relaxed. Round holes 13.5 mm are made in the brace, which is made according to individual sizes by 3D printing of bactericidal 3D plastic.
EFFECT: brace enables unloading the whole surface of the ulcerated foot by transferring the load from the plantar surface to the shin area, and provides the more effective and fast healing of the trophic ulcers accompanying diabetic foot.
