FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in making thin-walled bellows. A split sectional matrix and a compensator in the form of a rigidly fixed bushing, an insert and a moving device providing for application of force to the compensator are used. Tubular billet is formed by simultaneous axial movement of pipe billet, split sectional matrix and elastic puncheon from polyurethane. A force is applied to the movable insert of the compensator and the excess volume of polyurethane is removed from the deformation zone into the cavity of the bushing, which is released by the insert. As a result, constant working pressure is maintained in the elastic puncheon.
EFFECT: invention enables to achieve the technical result, which consists in the possibility of producing bellows with minimum thickness variation due to coordinated movement of the billet and the shaping tool.
