ACOUSTIC INSULATOR Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC G01V1/52 G01V1/40

Abstract RU 2839822 C1

FIELD: mining; measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to well logging and can be used in acoustic logging devices. Acoustic insulator contains alternating elements from materials with various wave impedances and connecting elements. Alternating elements with high characteristic impedance are made in the form of a double-sided cup, at the bottom of which there are central and uniformly arranged along the circumference of the bottom fastening through holes, fastening through holes of the double-sided cup are additionally equipped with bushings, and the double-sided cup on both sides is provided with cylindrical washers with a central and uniformly spaced along the cylindrical washer circumference fastening through holes and are made of a material with a lower wave impedance, alternating elements with lower wave impedance are made in the form of a stepped cylindrical insert with a central protrusion of the maximum diameter and extreme sections of the cylindrical insert with minimum diameters located in the double-sided cup, wherein the cylindrical insert is provided with a central through hole and uniformly spaced along the cylindrical insert circumference fastening through holes, extreme sections of cylindrical insert with minimum diameters are additionally equipped with blind holes, and alternating elements with larger and smaller wave resistances are interconnected by bolted joints. Outer diameters of cylindrical washer and extreme sections of cylindrical insert with minimum diameters are identical. Outer diameters of double-sided sleeve and central projection of cylindrical insert of maximum diameter are equal. Alternating elements with high wave resistances are made of metal material – steel, and alternating elements with lower wave resistances are made of non-metal material – caprolon, or polyurethane, or fluoroplastic, or rimamide. Proposed acoustic insulator provides the required attenuation of the acoustic signal on the housing and has sufficient strength for prolonged operation.

EFFECT: creation of acoustic isolator allowing to efficiently reduce amplitude of waves along the body at high strength, simplicity and durability of the design.
