SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol delivery device with a consumable cartridge and embodiments of the cartridge for use with an aerosol delivery device holder. Aerosol delivery device comprises a holder and a cartridge comprising a rigid outer casing, a heating portion comprising a heat source configured to generate heat, and a substrate portion comprising a substrate material comprising an aerosol precursor composition. Outer casing comprises end for heating and end for substrate, wherein at least one end of outer casing includes at least one hole, and cartridge is removable and replaceable inside holder. Heating part and the substrate part are located inside the outer casing of the cartridge, wherein the cartridge further comprises a barrier located between the heating part and the substrate part.

EFFECT: enabling separation of the heat source from the substrate material, so that the drawn air does not flow through the heat source.
