FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol delivery device and a control housing for an aerosol delivery device. Technical result is achieved by the fact that the aerosol delivery device comprises a power supply configured to provide voltage; an aerosol generating component configured to be energized to generate an aerosol from the aerosol precursor composition; a voltage regulator circuit connected between a power supply and a load including an aerosol generation component and configured to provide an output voltage, in which it is possible to adjust the voltage provided by the power supply to obtain a given target voltage value; switching device, which includes a first switch and a second switch, wherein the first switch is a multi-position switch including first and second inputs connected to the voltage regulator circuit and ground, respectively, and an output connected to the second switch, wherein the second switch is connected to the voltage regulator circuit and the load and is located between them; and a processing circuit connected to the first switch and configured to output a signal during the aerosol generation time period to cause the first switch to switch the output voltage to the second switch and the ground by means of the first and second inputs, respectively, and thus cause the second switch to switch the output voltage to the aerosol generation component and disconnect therefrom to power the aerosol generation component, as well as technical result is achieved by control housing for such aerosol delivery device.
