FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to veterinary science, infectiology, and may be used for determining the efficacy of emergency prevention and treatment of brucellosis. Peripheral blood is sampled from the infected and the guinea pigs subjected to acute prevention and treatment; the peripheral blood and its serum are analysed. Animals are examined for the content of cell products of lipid peroxidation – malondialdehyde (MDA), mcmol/l, antioxidant enzyme – superoxide dismutase (SOD), units/ml/min, cytokines: IL-1β, pg/ml, and gamma interferon (INF-γ), pg/ml. State of the T-cell link of the immune system is assessed by determining the content of a subpopulation of T-lymphocytes: T-helpers – CD4-cells, %, and T-suppressors – CD8-cells, %. Ratio MDA/SOD is calculated, standard units, CD4/CD8 and INF-γ/IL-1β, rel. units. At values of ratios MDA/SOD 0.33-0.41 standard units, CD4/CD8 2.80-2.90, INF-γ/IL-1β 1.07-1.31 standard units, efficiency of emergency prevention and treatment of brucellosis is determined.
EFFECT: method provides a pathogenetically grounded, objective and easy-to-implement evaluation of the effectiveness of emergency prevention and treatment of brucellosis by evaluating the state of the pro-oxidant-antioxidant system and determining the concentration of toxic products of lipid peroxidation – MDA, antioxidant enzyme – SOD, subpopulations of T-lymphocytes: CD4, CD8 cells, cytokines: IL-1β and INF-γ.
