FIELD: microbiology; immunology.

SUBSTANCE: method for assessing protective immunity to the causative agent of brucellosis is described. The method is characterized by the possibility of establishing the value of the criterion of the presence/absence of protective anti-brucellosis immunity. This criterion is obtained on the basis of cytometric accounting of the reaction of antigenic ex vivo activation of the CD3+ lymphocyte population according to the intensity of antigen-induced expression of the interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2Rα), followed by calculation of the coefficient of antigenic stimulation of CD3+IL-2Rα+ lymphocytes according to the formula.

EFFECT: less labour-intensive and less resource-intensive method, which does not require the purchase and maintenance of laboratory animals and can be performed in clinical laboratories that do not have a mandatory license to work with a particularly dangerous infection, and accordingly has the potential for wider implementation in laboratory practice.
