FIELD: fibre-optic communication system.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre-optic communication systems and specifically to infrared light guides designed for operation in the wavelength range from 3.5 mcm to 25.0 mcm. Infrared light guide of the system AgCl0.25Br0.75 - TlCl0.74Br0.26, is characterized by the fact that the fibre with diameter of 454.5-455.5 mcm is made of crystals based on solid solutions of silver chloride-bromide, additionally containing thallium bromide-chloride of the composition TlCl0.74Br0.26 with following ratio of ingredients, wt.%: AgCl0.25Br0.75 97.0-93.0; TlCl0.74Br0.26 3.0-7.0.
EFFECT: providing high photoresistance, resistance to ionizing radiation with a dose of up to 800 kGy and high hardness while maintaining plasticity.
