SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre-optic communication systems and specifically to infrared light guides designed for operation in the wavelength range from 4.0 to 28.0 mcm. Infrared light guide of the system TlBr0.46I0.54 – AgCl0.25Br0.75 characterized by the fact that the fibre with diameter of 524.5-525.5 mcm is made of crystals based on solid solutions of silver chloride-bromide, additionally containing thallium iodide-bromide of composition TlBr0.46I0.54 in the following ratio of ingredients, wt. %: AgCl0.25Br0.75 85.0-95.0; TlBr0.46I0.54 15.0-5.0.

EFFECT: disclosed infrared light guide is designed for operation with high-temperature materials and for operation with a high radiation background as a cable for transmitting information to a fibre pyrometer in the wavelength range from 4 to 28 mcm.
