FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to cardiology and functional diagnostics. Before the long-term ECG monitoring, the patient is configured with the monitor and loaded therein with at least ten samples of sinus rhythm ECG episodes and ten samples of AF episodes of length of 30–60 s to create a control set of dRR sequences. Using information compression methods applied to dRR sequences of RR interval elongations and shortenings, the ECG is divided into AF and sinus rhythm episodes. dRR-sequences are calculated from the R-peak sequences by formula. Further, between the current sequences and sequences from the reference set consisting of n sinus rhythm samples and n AF rhythm samples, normalized compression distances are calculated by formula. Rhythm class of the current episode is selected by the k-nearest neighbour method, wherein the number k neighbours is selected using a formula. K smallest distance values are then selected from the obtained distance values in ascending order, and the FP is detected if it is more common in the obtained k distance values.

EFFECT: method enables providing the more accurate detection of the heart rhythm disorders by separating the patient’s ECG into AF episodes and sinus rhythm with high sensitivity and specificity.
