SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a flame-retardant polypropylene composition (C) for use in making automotive products related to electronic components, which includes: i) propylene polymer (PP), which is a heterophase propylene copolymer (HEPC), including matrix (M), which is a propylene polymer, and elastomer (E), which is a copolymer comprising units derived from propylene and ethylene and/or C4-C8 α-olefin, ii) at least one nitrogen-containing phosphate flame retardant (FR) and iii) an anti-drip additive (E), which is lignin, where inequality (Ia):, is satisfied for the flame-retardant polypropylene composition (C), ,where w(A) is the total amount of anti-drip additive (A) in wt.%, calculated based on the total weight of the polypropylene composition (C), and w(FR) is the total amount of nitrogen-containing flame retardant (FR) in wt.%, calculated based on the total amount of the flame retardant polypropylene composition (C). Also described is the use of lignin as an anti-drip additive (A) for a composition comprising a propylene polymer (PP), which is a heterophase propylene copolymer (HEPC), comprising a matrix (M), which is a propylene polymer, and elastomer (E), which is a copolymer comprising units derived from propylene and ethylene and/or C4-C8 α-olefin, and nitrogen-containing phosphate flame retardant, where the anti-drip additive (A) is present in amount of 0.1 wt.% to 1.8 wt.% of the total weight of the polypropylene composition, and the ratio of w(A) to w(FR) is less than 0.10, where w(A) is the total amount of anti-drip additive (A) in wt.%, calculated based on the total weight of the polypropylene composition (C), and w(FR) is the total amount of nitrogen-containing flame retardant (FR) in wt.%, calculated based on the total amount of the flame retardant polypropylene composition (C). Described is an article containing said flame retardant polypropylene composition.
EFFECT: flame retardant polypropylene composition which meets UL94 V0 requirements and does not contain fluoropolymers.
