FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fire-resistant composition of polypropylene (C) for making an article for the automotive industry. Fire-resistant composition of polypropylene (C) for making an article for the automotive industry contains: i) 28.0 to 65.0 wt. % propylene polymer (PP), which is a heterophasic propylene copolymer (HECO), containing: a) matrix (M) representing a propylene polymer, and b) elastomer (E), which is a copolymer containing units derived from propylene and ethylene and/or C4-C8 α-olefin, ii) from 12.0 to 35.0 wt. % nitrogen-containing flame retardant (FR), where nitrogen-containing fire-resistant agent (FR) contains first nitrogen-containing phosphate (FR1) and second nitrogen-containing phosphate (FR2), wherein first nitrogen-containing phosphate (FR1) is melamine polyphosphate and second nitrogen-containing phosphate (FR2) is piperazine pyrophosphate, and iii) from 12.0 to 36.0 wt. % of anti-drip agent (A), which is a high melt strength polypropylene (HMS-PP), having melt strength F30, determined according to ISO 16790:2005, at least 20 cN, and iv) from 0.0 to 15.0 wt. % of carbon black (CB) from total weight of fire-resistant polypropylene composition (C). Invention also relates to an article for the automotive industry containing a fire-resistant polypropylene composition (C).
EFFECT: obtaining a fire-resistant polypropylene composition which does not contain halogens and satisfies UL94 V0 standard with sample thickness equal to or less than 1,6 mm.
