FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and may be used for cutting and finishing gear teeth and tools. In compliance with proposed method, disc tool and workpiece composed by one-sheet hyperboloid are fitted on crossed axles and revolved about axes at angular velocities inversely proportional to the number of teeth. Workpiece being cut is moved along a horizontal plane simultaneously by two feeds along the axis of the machine table and along the axis of the broaching support, while the disk tool has a straight cutting edge.
EFFECT: possibility to cut gear wheel teeth with linear nature of tooth contact at any gear ratio.
