FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: separating coating for foundry metal moulds contains the following, wt.%: filler containing: 5.5-11.0 of dolomite, 1.1-2.2 of pulverized quartz, 0.7-1.3 of red mud and 1.1-2.2 of titanium dioxide, binder in form of 3.6-6.6 of liquid glass and water – balance. Filler used is fraction smaller than 0.040 mm, wherein titanium dioxide and the red mud are added in form of an aqueous suspension. Fractional composition of filler is comparable with microrelief of casting mould, which contributes to uniform distribution of particles in volume of coating, increases stability of coating and filling of cavities of casting mould with provision of strong adhesion and increased resistance to abrasion.
EFFECT: high sedimentation resistance, covering capacity and wear resistance when painting metal casting moulds for casting nonferrous metals and alloys.
