FIELD: biotechnologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and can be used in food and pharmaceutical industry to obtain highly pure rutin from plant cell cultures. Method of isolating and purifying rutin from a callus culture of meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim.), involving extraction of crushed plant material with 70 % ethyl alcohol, treatment with organic solvents, filtration, drying, wherein vegetal raw material used is callus culture of meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim.), extraction of crushed raw material is carried out twice with 70% ethyl alcohol on a water bath at 30 °C with reflux condenser for 6 hours, extracts are filtered and combined, evaporated under vacuum at temperature 40 °C to dry residue is treated three times for 5 minutes with a dry residue using a rotary evaporator with a mixture of chloroform: ethyl acetate in a volume ratio of 3:7, extracts are combined, anhydrous sodium sulphate is added to them in amount of 2.0 g per every 100 ml of extract, mixture is settled for 3 hours at +4 °C, filtered, filter cake is washed with water and dissolved in 50% ethyl alcohol, adsorbed on activated carbon and vacuum evaporated to a dry residue using a rotary evaporator, successively, by 100 ml, elution is carried out with isopropanol, water, 15% solution of phenol in isopropanol, 7% aqueous solution of phenol, extract is treated three times with 100 ml of petroleum ether, the residue is evaporated under vacuum using a rotary evaporator, elution is carried out with a mixture of chloroform : ethanol with gradient of 90:10 to 20:80, and evaporated in a vacuum using a rotary evaporator.

EFFECT: described method enables to isolate and purify rutin from callus cultures of meadowsweet, with a degree of rutin extraction of 90-92%, while achieving a degree of purity of rutin of not less than 95%.
