FIELD: chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of quantitative determination of the amount of flavonoids in the herb meadowsweet. A method of quantitative determination of the amount of flavonoids in the meadowsweet herb, including a single extraction of air-dried raw materials with an organic solvent, followed by sample preparation and determination of optical density by differential spectrophotometry, characterized by the following: the extraction of raw materials is performed with ethyl alcohol at a concentration of 40% in the ratio “raw material-extractant” — 1 g of raw material to 50 ml of alcohol, extraction time in a boiling water bath is 90 minutes, degree of grinding of raw materials is 1 mm; quantitative determination of the amount of flavonoids in the herb meadowsweet is performed at a wavelength of 412±2 nm in terms of rutin; the content of the sum of flavonoids X, expressed as a percentage, in terms of a standard sample of rutin is calculated using the formula:

where in the numerator: Dx — optical density of the test solution; 50 — extraction volume, ml; 25 — volume of the flask for preparing solution A of the test solution, ml; 2 — volume of an aliquot for preparing solution A of the State Standard Sample of Rutin, ml; m0 — mass of CO rutin, g; 100 — content of the main substance in the State Standard Sample of Rutin, %; in the denominator: D0 — optical density of CO rutin solution; 50 — volume of the flask for preparing solution A of the State Standard Sample of Rutin, ml; 25 — volume of the State standard sample of rutin, ml; mx — mass of the studied raw material, g; W — weight loss during drying of raw materials, %; in the absence of a standard sample of rutin, it is advisable to use the theoretical value of the specific absorption index — 215, calculated using the formula:
where in the numerator: Dx — optical density of the test solution; 50 — extraction volume, ml; 25 — volume of the flask for preparing solution A of the test solution, ml; in the denominator: 215 — specific absorption index (E) of CO rutin at 412 nm; mx — mass of raw materials, g; W — weight loss during drying, %.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows for effective quantitative determination of the amount of flavonoids in the herb meadowsweet.
