FIELD: methods of environmental monitoring.
SUBSTANCE: materials of aerospace survey of grassy vegetation of soil canopy in red, blue and near infrared range of electromagnetic radiation spectrum are processed. Vegetation indices NDVI are determined in control points. An additive RGB colour model is obtained. Synchronous spot sampling of soil is carried out at control points. Content of heavy metals in soil samples is determined, then by their values partial coefficients of soil contamination in control points are calculated. An empirical coefficient of proportionality between the vegetation index NDVI and the partial coefficient of soil contamination is calculated. Soil contamination factor is calculated on the site by vegetation indices NDVI and content of heavy metals in control samples. Degree of soil contamination is estimated by values of soil contamination coefficient, at that, if value of soil contamination coefficient is less than 1, low degree of soil contamination is stated, when the soil contamination factor reaches 1 to 5, the average degree of soil contamination is stated, when the soil contamination factor reaches 5 to 25, an increased degree of soil contamination is stated, and when the soil contamination factor exceeds 25, the critical degree of soil contamination is stated.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase objectivity of assessment of ecological state of soil and to reduce volume of field investigations.
