FIELD: mechanical engineering; metal cutting machine tools. SUBSTANCE: measuring instrument is hinge-mounted on cylindrical surface of checking mandrel rotated together with one spindle and is moved along axis of mandrel. Instrument engages with end face surface of checking flange rotated together with other spindle. According to Para 1. measuring instrument is shifted in steps with rotating spindle to increase accuracy of checking the trajectory of displacement of axes of spindle rotation relative to each other. To increase accuracy of checking of parallel misalignment of spindle rotation axis relative to direction of its displacement, value of deflection is determined by difference in instrument readings measured at spindle displacement relative to axis of checking mandrel and its displacement with rotating spindle. EFFECT: increased accuracy of checking nonsquareness of axes of spindle rotation.
