FIELD: production of scaly ice. SUBSTANCE: inclined working surface 6 is cooled to temperature of -20 to -25 C by means of tubes 7 of refrigerating machine evaporator and ultrasonic oscillations at frequency of 20 to 22 kHz are imparted to it by means of magnetostriction converter 9. Water is supplied from device 8 mounted above working surface 6. At simultaneous action of ultrasound and low temperature on working surface 6, thin layer of water fed to it is repelled to distance commensurable with amplitude of oscillations where temperature is practically the same as that on working surface 6 and is covered with ice scale in suspended state owing to which ice is not frozen to working surface 6.
