FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: layer of chromomagnesite fill 2 is poured in metal housing 1. Chromomagnesite refractories 3 are laid on this layer. Then XПТ and ПXC refractory units are mounted; they are slightly shifted to working space; then tuyere refractory units 4 are mounted with XПT or ПXC refractory units 5 at the top which are slightly shifted to working space. Formed between tueyere units 4 shifted to housing 1 and refractory units 5 projecting to working space which are located above and below tuyeres is chamber which is filled with high-refractory material 6 which protects tuyere units 4 against thermal shock in starting the converter and simultaneously prevents the melt from penetrating into seams of lining of tueyere unit, thus considerably decreasing their stresses. Ehen lining is heated to steady-stage conditions, tueyere refractory units are deformed and seams are sealed. EFFECT: increased service life of tuyere belt lining. 2 dwg
