METHOD FOR THERMAL ACTIVATION OF OIL-GAS DEPOSIT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract SU 1487558 A1

FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to oil production by using heat generated in result of burning hydrocarbons at place of their deposition. High efficiency of process is achieved due to reduced power consumption in developing deposits with natural gas cap without burning of upper part of gas cap. According to method, burning in gas cap is initiated by delivery of oxidizing agent with subsequent cyclic delivery of gas-air mixture into burnt-out part of gas cap. Burning site is created at distance from gas-oil contact to prevent bursting of gas and combustion products into oil-saturated part of reservoir. Oil and gas are taken simultaneously through producing wells. Calculations show that distance from burning site in gas cap to gas-oil contact is 120-150 m. EFFECT: high efficiency.
