FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: synthesis is carried out by addition of HCl spirituous solution up to pH=1 to 1-cyclopropyl-6-nitro-7-(4-methylpiperazinyl)-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid. Yield is 91% , m. p. is 271-272 C, empirical formula is C18H10N4O5·HCl. At toxicity 580 mg/kg for new compound on septicemia model caused Ps. aeruginosa at doses 100, 200, 400 mg/kg viability of animals is 85-90% as compared with 10-20% for known structural analog.
