FIELD: desalting of sea water. SUBSTANCE: descending liquid film evaporator incorporates inlet and outlet pipes, upper pipe grate provided with distributing device and intermediate and lower pipe grates, and heat exchange pipes made from predominating polymer sleeve film and passing through openings in pipe grates. Distributing device is made in the form of intermediate pipe grate on which is disposed flexible material sheet whose openings have profiled edges enabled to contact external surfaces of pipes and radial slits. Diameter of each opening in pipe grate is larger than that of each opening in sheet by size of radial slits. Openings in sheet are either serrated or undulated in profile. EFFECT: uniform stability of liquid film flow over external surfaces of pipes. 2 cl, 3 dwg
