FIELD: chemistry of organosilicon compounds. SUBSTANCE: magnesium is reacted with tetraethoxysilane, ethyl chloride and SiCl4 in toluene in a counterflow addition of magnesium. Magnesium is used in the form of grains having acute-angled faces and a bulk density of 0,45-0,65 g/cm3, with the ratio of fractions of less than 0.5 mm (0.5-1.0 mm) and greater than 1.0 m (0.1-0.9), (8.2-9.0) and (0.1-0.9). These conditions make it possible to reduce the amount of tetraethoxysilane in admixture with silicon chloride from 55 to 45 wt % and to increase the process efficiency accordingly. EFFECT: greater process efficiency and reduced amount of tetraethoxysilane.
