FIELD: mixing process in hydrodynamic cavitation field; chemical, petrochemical, wood-pulp and paper and other industries. SUBSTANCE: mixer has housing with cavitators mounted inside it. Cavitators are made in form of blades with wedge-shaped section and sharp leading edge. Blades are provided with cover plates whose rear parts are connected with lateral motion drive made in form of rod whose outer surface is provided with helical threads engageable with bushes connected with cover plates. Mixer is provided with additional drive for lateral motion of cover plates. Drive is made in form of rod having helical threads on its outer surface of different direction; threads are engageable with bushes connected with center portions of cover plates. Cover plates are flexible. Outer surfaces of rods of main and additional drives connected with one and the same cover plate have helical threads of opposite direction.
