SUBSTANCE: benzofuran substitutes, more particularly 2-methyl-3-acyl-4-dialkypaminomethyl-5-oxybenzofuran hydrochlorides of the general formula: wherein having local anesthetic activity and which can be used in medicine. The synthesis is carried out by aminomethylation of 3-acyl-5-5oxybenzofurans.
