FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ion-beam processes of production of special-quality materials, in particular, to processes providing increase in wear resistance of hard-alloy tool working surfaces. Wear resistance is increased by a factor of up to 5 when surface is treated with ionic implantation of zirconium and molybdenum with energy in the range 25-45 keV and dose 5•1016-1018 ion/sq.cm, provided that irradiation is first conducted with zirconium ions, then with molybdenum ions, and finally once more with zirconium ions. In addition nitrogenation of surface is carried out within energy range 5-10 keV under pressure (2-7) x 10-2 for 5-7 min. EFFECT: increased wear resistance. 2 cl, 3 dwg, 2 tbl
